After several weeks of rigorous auditions, TV3 has announced Sunday, October 22, 2023 as the maiden edition of Mentor Season 12.
All 16 contestants of the latest edition of the music talent show will be unveiled.
Mentor is a show established to identify good talents in music and showcase them on higher platforms.
According to the host of this year’s season, Chrystal Kwame-Aryee, the judges had to finally settle on 16 contestants out of the 30 who were chosen from the regional auditions.
“This year’s selection has been interesting and I have enjoyed myself as a music lover. I made sure I enjoyed the performances of all contestants. Last week Sunday,15th October, 2023, we had the final selection out of the 30 contestants. All 30 contestants had the opportunity to wow the judges, but they had to settle on the final 16 contestants,’’ she revealed.

Chrystal in an interview on TV3’s New Day on the October 20, 2023, mentioned that the judges have identified peculiarities and very good talents among the contestants.
She further hinted that the rappers are not much, but this year’s contest is filled with different personalities like the flamboyant, sensational voices ready to thrill audiences to spectacular performances week after week.
“Some people really understand show-biz so are perfectly poised, but we also have those who start all weak, but later work on themselves with the comments of the judges and actually climb up to become winners” she said.
“So just tune in on Sunday as we unveil all 16 talents but make sure you watch to vote for your contestant as we are promising a good music season this time” she assured viewers.
Mentor is a music reality show organized by TV3. Housed and coached by industry greats like Kwabena Kwabena, Ritchie Mensah and Kaywa, contestants of this competition are supposed to win audience to vote for them by their performance week after week while the candidate with less votes get evicted until the final winner is crowned.
He or she takes home a recording deal, a cash prize and the ultimate bragging right of beingn called Mentor 2023 winner.
This year’s edition is the 12th since the competition started and it has been consistent with unearthing great talents to add to the music industry.
